MTR's mission is to assist in the creation, preservation, location and safe operation and use of
outdoor ATV recreational riding areas. Our primary focus is on the planning and promotion of family
oriented outdoor activities centered around ATV riding in Southern Indiana and Kentucky.
Our goal is simply to bring like-minded ATV riders and their families together.
We are based in Corydon, Indiana. Corydon is located near the geographic center of Harrision County in Southern Indiana.
Harrison County borders Kentucky along the Ohio river and is just 20 miles west of Louisville, Kentucky on I-64.
The club plans to coordinate trips, events and activities throughout the year.
The majority of our activities will be coordinated by members through the use of the
discussion forums so please be sure to register and check the forum posts often.
Another primary goal of MTR is to locate and establish a permanent ATV riding area
in the Southern Indiana area, preferably within a 30 minute drive of the Louisville, KY
metropolitan area. The Harrison, Crawford and Perry County areas near Corydon, IN are ideal for
just such a facility. We are looking for leads on anyone that might me interested in donating, renting or selling
land or just allowing MTR members to ride on their land in the this area. We are also looking
for sources of funds to help with the purchase and establishment of the ATV riding area. If you
know of any riding locations or funding sources please let us know. You can contact us via email at
info@MidwestTrailRiders.com. All leads are
greatly appreciated. [To learn more about how you can help click here...]
We also plan to become a leading source of trail riding locations and information in
Southern Indiana and Kentucky. As we all know, the number one
problem for ATV riders is finding enough places to ride. The club will also
work to locate and publish guidelines on the safe operation of ATV's for its members.
Keeping ATV riding safe is one good way to ensure the sports survival and growth as
a fun family outdoor activity. Remember, knowledge is power and the more you know the
more enjoyable (and safe) your outings will be.
It is also important to note that MTR is NOT and
extreme riding club. As stated, our mission is to promote family activities
with riding as the primary component of those activities. Overnight
camping and canoeing trips at regional riding locations are good examples of the
types of activities our group will be promoting. We do not plan to sponsor races or
other similar activities.
Just remember, ATV's can be a lot of fun but they can also be dangerous when not used properly
and respected. Stay safe and you will enjoy your ATV for many years to come.
