Comments:

Could be the extreme test for your 4-wheeler. Steep climbs, mud, rock climbing, you name it and Tellico has it. 4wheeler mag. has been there several times, so you know it is rough. only bad side is that this place is predominately for trucks, jeeps and such, but there is a lot of ATV, and bikes up there. Numerous campsites and 1 hotel (GREEN COVE MOTEL, Tellico Plains, Tn) for overnight riders. 12 trails clearly marked for degree of difficulty. Easiest, More Difficult and Most Difficult. Most difficult requires winches and 4x4 use on most of the trails.

Many trails are accessible to stock (unmodified) four wheel drive vehicles. Individual trails vary in length up to 4.9 miles, but the ORV area networks the trails that they may be connected in series. Many locations require a spotter or trail guide. Many severe obstacles have bypasses.

THE UPPER TELLICO AREA IS A HIGH ELEVATION BASIN FORMED BY THE UNICOI MTNS. THE TELLICO RIVER AND IT'S NUMEROUS FEEDER STREAMS ARE BORN AMID HIGH OAKS AND DISSECT THE 8,000 ACRES OF RUGGED, STEEP TERRAIN. ELEVATIONS RANGE FROM 2,500 feet AT THE TENNESSEE and NORTH CAROLINA STATE LINE TO 4,979 feet GRASSY TOP MTN.
